The Institute of Chemical Research of Catalonia (ICIQ) is seeking a Support Technician. We are seeking a research scientist to join our research team focusing on the development of catalysts using earth-abundant elements for CO2 reduction reactions (CO2RR). The successful candidate will be responsible for:Developing membrane electrode assemblies optimized for CO2RR.Assisting in the design of electrochemical cells.Collaboration with fellow scientists to analyze results and write detailed reports.Maintaining laboratory equipment.Writing scientific articles and research proposals.Documenting research findings comprehensively.Participating in group meetings and contributing to special projects.Requirements:Master's degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.A strong background in electrocatalytic reactions and catalysts.Knowledge of electrochemical methods for electrocatalyst characterization (RDE, half-cell, cyclic voltammetry, etc.) is welcome.Knowledge of photocatalysis.Good knowledge of scientific English.Knowledge of common laboratory techniques and analytic tools.Experience in photoelectrochemistry will be a plus.Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.Strong motivation for the project and willingness to engage in interdisciplinary research.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively.Ability to work independently and take initiative to drive the project forward.Valued qualities:Highly motivated and enthusiastic.High oral and written communication skills in English.We offer:A full-time employment contract linked to the PDC2022-133451-I00 project.Remuneration according to the Institute salary scales.Annual salary split into twelve monthly payments.Incorporation: September 2024.OTM-R principles in the selection processes: ICIQ follows the principles of Open, Transparent and Merit-based Recruitment (OTM-R) and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers as established by the European Commission.
