ALBA is the Spanish synchrotron light source, a large research infrastructure operating ten beamlines and complementary facilities. Located in Cerdanyola del Vallès (Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain), it is funded by the Spanish Government and the Catalan Government. ALBA produces synchrotron light used by thousands of researchers to analyze and understand the properties of matter across various fields.
We are offering a position as a Technician of the Biological Laboratories in the Experiments Division. The successful candidate will be in charge of the services provided by the biological laboratories and support to ALBA staff and external users.
Tasks As a technician at the biological laboratories (BioLab), you will:
Develop tasks and workflows as the person in charge of technical management.Provide technical support to the BioLab's services offered to users and beamlines.Maintain the BioLab equipment.Support ongoing experiments, including setup and sample preparation.Ensure all safety regulations are followed.Maintain stock products and carry out purchase orders.Update inventories, lab protocols, and OIS.Supervise internship students. Requirements The candidate shall:
Hold an advanced professional training course in biological laboratory techniques or a life sciences degree, with at least 3 years of work experience as a biological laboratory technician.Have a good level of English, both written and spoken. Selection Process Development The selection will be carried out through the competition-opposition system, beginning with a CV analysis followed by an interview for the best-rated candidates.
Other information Permanent contract. This selection process aims to reduce the temporariness rate and fill positions on a permanent basis.
