What you will do Direct line management for direct reports, including responsibility for:Undertaking annual and interim appraisal discussionsAbsence managementTo ensure that new starter's induction processes and documents are regularly reviewed and updatedMotivating and engaging the team, as well as overseeing the well-being of the workforceTo have a sound technical knowledge of complex and high value motor claims so that they can be the point of contact for any technical queries within the team and confidently supervise the team.To be directly responsible for driving and improving financial performance of their team through effective management and support;Specific accountability for driving performance in the following areas:Ensuring internal and external SLAs and KPIs are communicated, met or exceeded and the work of the team is of the highest standardCollective team achievement of agreed financial targetsEnsuring that the team deliver prompt, accurate and appropriate billingEnsuring that Supervisors and their teams' overall provision of MI is timely and accurateEnsuring that Supervisors are effectively managing, coaching and technically supervising fee earnersEnsuring any performance or conduct issues are identified and escalated with support from your line managerEffective allocation of work amongst the team to meet the skills and technical knowledge of the individuals in the team, whilst ensuring work is carried out profitably for the business and clientInvolvement in recruitment activitiesResponsibility for liaising with the Team Partner and Operations Manager in relation to capacity planningResponsibility for encouraging innovative ideas and ensuring that a culture of continuous improvement developsFoster and maintain strong relationships with our clients by ensuring the team deliver a high standard of service and respond promptly to requests for informationWho you are You will ideally have a degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) or Cilex qualification and relevant legal experiencePrevious team management and / or supervision experience advantageous, previous paralegal experience requiredKeen eye for detail to ensure data produced by the team is accurate and can be used to identify trendsEvidence of strong people management skills including the ability to motivate, coach and mentor team members at all levelsHave an ability to adopt a commercial perspective rather than an 'academic' approach to claims settlement.Willing to take on client opportunities whether in person or virtuallyDemonstrates alignment with the Firm's Cultural Principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive).About DAC Beachcroft We are a leading international legal business with over 2,900 colleagues and a diverse range of capabilities.
