King's College, world-renowned for academic excellence, is seeking to appoint a dynamic, inspiring and ambitious professional to the position of Summer Camp Academic Coordinator.

Dates : June 15th - July 31st (Monday to Friday)

Administrative and management responsibilities:

Respect the guidelines set down by King's College International.
Ensure that the use of English is employed at all times with the children and staff at the school during the course.
Be prepared to follow a flexible working timetable.
Attend the Director's Meeting in Madrid.
Be part of the teacher selection process, conduct interviews.
Create and organise the course timetables (Lesson plans, Class times, Workshops, Excursions, Staff duties, Days off) along with the activities coordinator.
Assist the General Director in organising and preparing the information session for the Course Training Day.
Check the lists of materials/resources needed for the Course before the start of the camp and inform the General Director of any missing items.
Once the course is underway, any requests for additional materials/replenishments must be sent in writing to the Camps and Activities Director.
Complete a lesson observation for every teacher in the Course.
Unpacking and packing with teachers and monitors of course material (start and end of the course).
Maintain contact/inform the Bus Monitors of any problems/changes that may affect the schedule in the Course.
Ensure the smooth running of the timetable and optional classes.
Work as part of a team.
Prepare the training day for the teachers.
Any admin tasks regarding the first week of camp (English classes, distribution of kids, etc.) must be done before the training day.
Every time there's an incident and a kid needs to be taken to hospital, you need to follow the emergency protocol.
Be responsible when using Petty Cash and ask for authorisation if the cost is unusual.

EFL class duties during the residential course:
Grouping of students with teachers at the start of course.
Monitor English and Spanish class levels, making changes where necessary, trying to balance the groups by age, level and sex, etc.
Offer help and advice to teachers on both an academic and personal level, assist with the preparation of classes: providing photocopies or other academic materials as and when they are needed.
Supervise and monitor the planning and preparation of the English and Project Classes with teachers.
Hold meetings to assess the Daily Lesson Plans in order to check the suitability and content of the material and offer guidance when necessary.
Ensure that teachers are applying an appropriate methodology to their teaching both in and out of the class and utilising suitable academic material for the age and level of their students.
Check the content of the work being completed by students on a regular basis to ensure that a high standard is maintained and that all work is corrected appropriately by teachers.
Appoint teachers and monitors to work in partnership on project-based classes together with the Activities Coordinator.
Cover a teacher if she/he is unavailable to attend camp for health issues.
Provide feedback to the Course Director on the running and progress of the English Classes.
Set up and participate in evening activities.

General course duties:
Maintain an awareness of fire, health and safety regulations (Handbook).
Be responsible for the well-being of the children and staff of the Courses.
Be prepared, when necessary, to take a child from Course to the nearest Health Centre or hospital.
Work as part of a team.
Ensure that all staff follows the timetable, maintaining punctuality.
Maintain parent/teacher contact (on site, via management system, telephone or email).
Ensure that any doubts or complaints from the parents or tutors are dealt rapidly.
Ensure the uniform provided by King's College S.L. is worn at all times by teachers and monitors.
Ensure that all staff maintains good standards of personal hygiene and appearance at all times.
Complete a Daily Incident and Parents Complaint Sheet to be given to the Director upon request.
Chaperone the students on organised excursions within the camp programme.
Ensure that interns know their responsibilities and are prepared to actively participate in the camps activities.
Carry the coordinator's phone at all times and make sure it is fully charged so you are reachable and accessible 24/7.
Carry the Summer Camp phone (coordinator or director) when needed and answer parent's calls.
Do transfers to/from the airport when and if needed.

Requisitos:
Estudios Mínimos: Licenciatura-Ingeniería Superior.
C.A.P.: Sí.
Experiencia mínima: Sí, 3 años.
Otros requisitos:
LANGUAGE:
English: Advanced or Proficiency (C1-C2) (Required).
Spanish: Advanced or Proficiency (C1-C2) (Required).
EXPERIENCE:
Summer Camps: 3 years.
Teaching Experience: 3 years.
DOCUMENTATION:
Valid Spanish DNI/NIE (Residency) or Permission to work within the EU (Student NIE's are not accepted).
Criminal Record/Certificate of Sexual offences (with less than 3 months of expedition).
Spanish Social Security Number.
Currículum Vitae with picture attached in the upper right-hand corner.
Scanned Copies of Degrees and Certificates.
2 Contact References.
CERTIFICATES OR DEGREES:
TEFL Certificate, English Degree, Teaching Degree.

The Academic Coordinator will report to the Director of the summer camp and will work in partnership with the Activities Coordinator. The Academic Coordinator may also report to King's College S.L. Camps and Activities Director.
