Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
Maintains a safe and orderly environment.
Maintains a professional standard and appearance as an example to students.
Follows the virtual instructional schedule and/or remains at school the entire day/assignment, unless otherwise instructed to leave by the building principal.
Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, colleagues, equipment, materials, grounds, and facilities.
Practices COVID-19 mitigation.
Maintains rules of conduct that encourage self-discipline and responsibilities.
Communicates effectively with parents/guardians when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS The candidate must have a minimum of a high school diploma.
Knowledge and experience of Zoom, CANVAS, instructional technology, and virtual meeting platforms are preferred.
Must be detail-oriented and able to follow written and verbal instructions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Bilingual in English and a World Language preferred.
Must be culturally responsive to students, families, and colleagues.
PHYSICAL CONDITIONS AND NATURE OF WORK CONTACTS: Duties performed typically in school settings include classroom; gym, cafeteria; auditorium; and recreational areas.
Frequent walking, standing, light lifting, up to 40 pounds, and other limited physical activities are required.
Occasional movement of students by wheelchairs and other mechanical devices may be required.
Regular instruction for special needs children may be necessary.
Occasional lifting of equipment such as audio-visuals weighing up to 50 pounds may be required.
Daily personal and COVID mitigated contact with children to provide classroom management and learning environment support is required.
Regular contact with other staff members and parents is required.
Occasional contact with medical professionals may be required.
Frequent contact with families/guardians by phone, electronic, and in person is necessary.
