Specifically, KPU is interested in mapping its pedagogical and administrative ecosystems towards illustrating how it supports the SDGs, as well as highlighting areas of strength that might be offered as best practice examples for other post-secondary institutions. Further, and acknowledging that all of the SDGs are interconnected, once KPU's strengths and the associated core SDGs are highlighted, such efforts will also inform ongoing reporting efforts as well as the monitoring of KPU's overall support of the Sustainable Development Goals. The two student researchers will also assist with completing a campus-wide SDG engagement process, to increase awareness and on-campus literacy of the Sustainable Development Goals through conversations about the SDGs and their importance. With the support of the two students, KPU's SDG research project will highlight and promote the leadership being undertaken at KPU in advancing the SDGs, and provide opportunities for collaboration between our University and other sectors.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES The two student researchers are envisioned to:Undertake guided research.Collect, analyze, and interpret data.Contribute to summary memos, briefing notes, and reports.Contribute to the preparation of engagement materials and presentations.Participate in meetings, workshops, and outreach and engagement activities.Biweekly meetings with supervising Faculty and Administrative team members.Close collaboration amongst the two student researchers working on the project.QUALIFICATIONS The student researchers will have the following qualifications:A demonstrated ability, either through work experience or through classwork, to prepare and present professional-level reports, conduct research, and participate in campus-wide discussions related to SDGs.A sound knowledge of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals.An understanding of the principles, best practices, strategies, and objectives related to environmental sustainability and climate action (both mitigation and adaptation); equity, diversity and inclusion; and Indigenous reconciliation.Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of a team.Completed at least 60 credits of post-secondary studies.Completed courses on quantitative and qualitative research.Currently attending KPU
