About PLD:
Founded in 2011, PLD Space is a high-tech engineering, manufacturing and service-driven company, with deep track record and expertise in space launch technologies.
We are a trusted global championing industry leader disrupting the pathway to space access. We are on a mission to reach new heights by making space more accessible, supporting missions that will make us smarter, safer and wealthier.
Our purpose is to propel new futures, to enable progress from space and enrich peoples' lives on Earth, by moving new economies, people and world forward.
Mission
As a Structures Integration Manager, your main mission within the area will be to lead the department in charge of the assembly and the integration of the structures sub-system and generate all the documentation related with the process.
Responsibilities
Development, implementation, and optimization of assembly procedures and technical approaches for the launch vehicle primary and secondary structures: assembly manuals, work orders, post-assembly inspections and reports. Continuous improvement of assembly processes (based on lessons learned) to bring products from prototype to high-volume production.
Assembly of aerospace structures, rocket engines, fluid systems and others. Monitor/supervise assembly processes (drilling, mechanical, sealing) of aerospace primary structure (mainly metallic and composite parts) and secondary structure (rigid pipes brackets, valves support, electrical and avionics equipment supports and harness fixations to structure).
Technical support and problem-solving during assembly procedures.
Coordination with dedicated departments for specific tooling needs and development requirements.
Support organizing, assigning, and tracking work/deliverables for the assembly team.
Reporting and working closely with Program management to meet deadlines and milestones, active participation in production control and implementation of improvement methods.
Concurrence activities with our design engineers and supply chain department in evolving our designs to improve quality, reducing assembly timing and simplify operations in general.
In charge of implementing processes in a rapidly evolving production environment.
Collaboration with design and manufacturing of tooling and support equipment to facilitate hardware assembly.
Attention to detail and establishment of a highly structured integration environment.
Be able to envisage and forecast future needs and requirements from the refurbishment and maintenance point of view that may impact on the first assembly procedure concept.
Quickly resolve non-conformances and work with the Quality team to implement root cause corrective actions.
Implementation of quality assurance processes conforming to specifications and standards.
Maintaining an operational safe, clean and well-organized integration environment.
