Job Description: A position for a Structural Health Monitoring Engineering has arisen within Airbus Defence & Space in Getafe in Structural Integrity & Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) team.
Mainly for tactical and transport aircraft .
TASK RESPONSIBILITIES As the successful candidate your principal activities will include: Support design of SHM for new and existing aircraft.
Support certification and qualification activities regarding SHM.
Support Services to arrange, validate and process all the raw data.
Perform regular usage monitoring reports and presentations.
Perform regular fatigue assessment reports and present the results to the customer, make decisions for fleet maintenance actions and fleet usage recommendations.
Investigation of special events (i.e.
hard landings, load exceedances…).
Improve and validate the software tools to support the SHM activities.
Develop new functionalities/improvements in the software based on customer requirements.
Set standards for replacement of non-monitored flights, information management, etc.
Define pilot locations in the airframe structure to be monitored for SHM.
Perform load spectra, fatigue and crack growth analysis for the pilot monitoring locations.
Define and support tests for strain gauge calibration.
Support the Chief Engineers Office for product development tasks, production, and in-service issues related to SHM.
REQUIRED PROFILE We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience: Degree in Aerospace Engineering or Industrial Engineering (Mechanical).
3 to 5 years of professional experience as Engineer on structures analysis (SHM or Fatigue & Damage Tolerance field).
Deep Knowledge of aircraft structures design.
Desirable programming background (Python).
Fluent in Writing and Spoken English.
