Holtec International, a turnkey supplier of technologies for the nuclear and fossil power industries, is seeking to add a Structural Engineer. The analyst would be called upon to analyze metallic, reinforced concrete and soil-subgrade supported structures.
*Candidate must be located or willing to commute in Madrid office on a regular basis. Typical analyses include: Static and dynamic finite element modeling and analyses (FEA) using ANSYSDrop and impact (e.g., missile and aircraft) analyses and target response using LS-DYNASimulation of the seismic response of freestanding structures in air or submerged in waterStatic and dynamic analyses of large reinforced concrete structuresSoil-structure interaction (SSI) analyses with freestanding and/or anchored structuresBeam and plate stress calculations using established principles of strength of materialsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Applicant must possess a BS in mechanical/civil/structural engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience. MS will count for 2 years of experience and Ph.D. will count for 4 years of experience (experience from MS and Ph.D. cannot be combined)Familiarity with standard industry and design codes/manuals such as ASME, ASCE, ACI and AISCMust possess excellent credentials in principles of solid mechanicsMust possess excellent technical writing and communication skillsDESIRED SKILLS: Academic or industrial experience in the latest stress analysis codes such as ANSYS, LS-DYNA, STAAD.Pro and GT STRUDLPrior nuclear industry experience including interactions with NRC or other regulatory authorities
