About the job:
BBVA is seeking a Manager / Senior Manager to join its high-performance Strategy and M&A team , recognized as a talent pool for the bank . This team leads the execution of acquisitions, divestments, and strategic partnerships across various sub-segments such as retail and corporate banking, wealth and asset management, insurance, fintech , and specialized financial institutions .
This position requires strong leadership skills to manage cross-functional teams and deliver high-impact results aligned with BBVA's global objectives. You will also supervise and mentor junior team members, contributing to their development within this demanding environment, while regularly interacting with BBVA's senior leadership to present strategic recommendations.
Key Responsibilities :
Lead and manage the analysis and execution of acquisitions, divestments, and partnerships in line with BBVA's global strategy.
Oversee detailed market analysis , including the performance and potential of individual institutions across various financial sub-segments.
Drive the project management and coordination of internal and external teams, ensuring successful execution of strategic M&A projects.
Lead the due diligence process on identified opportunities, ensuring rigorous evaluation of financial, operational, and strategic risks.
Supervise and mentor junior team members , fostering their development and ensuring high-quality project deliverables.
Prepare and present materials for C-level executives and Board of Directors , providing strategic insights and recommendations on M&A transactions.
Requirements :
Education : Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, or other finance-related fields. MBA, CFA, or postgraduate studies are strongly preferred.
Experience : 5+ years of professional experience in Corporate Finance, M&A, or Investment Banking. Proven track record of managing and executing complex transactions, with demonstrated leadership in cross-functional teams.
Skills :
Strong leadership and team management abilities, with experience in mentoring and developing junior staff.
Extensive knowledge of financial analysis, valuation techniques, and strategic business evaluation.
High fluency in English, both written and spoken (minimum C1 level required).
Strong communication and presentation skills, with experience in delivering recommendations to senior executives.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Bloomberg.
Travel : Occasional international travel is required.
