Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems management, or other related field.
Working understanding of relevant European laws and regulations, e.g., DORA, EUCS, EU AI Act, etc.
Experience serving in a leadership or subject matter expert capacity in national or international standards development organization committees, e.g., ISO SC/TC/PC/WG.
5+ years of security domain expertise, technical or non-technical skills in security management or analysis, and experience in specific areas of the security industry (e.g., IT Security Audit, Security & Regulatory Compliance, Industrial Security Design Implementation, Security Industry Standards, or Technical-Control/Security-Related Trade & Product Compliance), or similar leadership role.
5+ years of experience working with regulatory focused standards in information security (e.g., ISO/IEC, CEN/CENELEC) or other industry verticals including medical, transportation, energy, or gaming.
5+ years of experience in driving the development and adoption of industry frameworks, producing reports for senior leadership on regulatory, technology and related policy issues.
5+ years of experience leading security standards and interfacing with auditors, regulators, policymakers, and executive stakeholders.
Basic project and/or program management skills.

Key job responsibilities:
This role is critical in helping AWS develop concise and actionable thought leadership positions on new, emerging, and existing industry standards to drive discussion and alignment across AWS products, business, and assurance teams. Success in this role will be defined by your ability to effectively work with and across internal teams to develop and effectively represent AWS positions in relevant SDO fora; help ensure that customer and AWS interests are represented where possible, keep internal stakeholders informed of key standards developments, and ultimately, facilitate customer adoption and usage of AWS services.

Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree or advanced technical degree in computer science or related discipline.
Depth understanding and/or experience with relevant European laws and regulations, e.g., DORA, EUCS, EU AI Act, etc.
Technical fearlessness; comfortable in discussing complex security concepts, ability to clarify ambiguous requirements, consistently evaluating tradeoffs with technical and business teams.
Strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
Strong project and/or program management skills.
Depth experience with compliance and industry standards programs.
Self-starter with proven track record of successfully working with a wide array of functional groups across an organization, geographies, and cultures while also able to work independently.
Ability to investigate and analyze technical and regulatory issues applicable to AWS services.
