The Datadog Agent is software that runs on customer infrastructure and supports a wide range of platforms.
It collects observability data from hosts and sends them to Datadog, where our customer can analyze their monitoring and performance data.As a Staff Engineer you will enable the entire Agent Organization of 100+ engineers to develop and deliver high quality Datadog Agent releases by improving our CI platform, tooling, processes and coding throughout.At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table.
We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.What You'll Do:Design and drive high priority, high visibility projects that increase the Agent supply chain's security, resilience and scalability across multiple teamsIdentify potential system risks and trends in security or reliability, design and implement solutions to address themCollaborate closely with partner teams that integrate and depend on the Agent to provide critical capabilities to their customersSupport the growth of the Agent, welcoming new products and new engineering teams, providing the best platform to develop, test, build and release the AgentLead and guide other engineers around you through architectural decisionsProvide input on prioritizing engineering-led initiatives in short- and long-term planning as well as contribute to both the product and engineering roadmapsWho You Are:You have led large cross-team initiatives in an environment where security, speed, and reliability are first-order concernsYou have hands-on experience with supply chain related projects, such as CI systems, release management tooling and Linux/macOS/Windows packagingYou are able to bring best practices from across the world of software engineering and adapt them to the AgentYou enjoy mentoring and coaching other engineers to become more completeDatadog values people from all walks of life.
