SSR and SSM Commercial Manager, Amazon Shipping DESCRIPTION
Amazon is innovating in the Operations and Logistics space and looking for a driven, entrepreneurial, and analytical Commercial Manager for Spain. We are looking for a Salesperson who will be excited by working in a new start-up environment and will have familiarity with leading and automating B2B sales generation for Small and Medium Companies.
The successful Commercial Manager will be comfortable navigating ambiguity and operating in a start-up environment within the parcel shipping industry. You will have experience developing relationships across a diverse customer base, build mechanisms at scale, drive commercial growth for the business and work effectively with functional areas such as Program, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and IT and has a proven track record of meeting and exceeding program goals and revenue targets.
Key job responsibilities
Own strategy and commercial growth for Small and Medium shippers' cohort
Drive revenue, adoption, profit and market segment share for our product with key prioritization and identified trade-offs
Earn trust of customers (shippers) and recommend product solutions that fit their business needs; meeting targets for customer and/or feature adoption
Measure performance, articulate root-cause analysis, and link to specific improvement areas
Relay market needs and requirements back to internal Amazon teams
Analyse current purchasing processes and evaluate opportunities for solutions to improve end user experiences, reduce costs, and accelerate organization performance
Automate existing process; build to scale
Assess program risks, anticipate challenges, and provide escalation management when necessary
This role will be based in Madrid (4 Towers district, not Getafe) and with moderate travel within Spain (max. 15-20%)
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree
Extensive experience in account management, sales, management consulting, or roles with similarly broad scope
Demonstrated ability to operate both strategically and tactically in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
Strong business acumen and sales skills, including communication and negotiation skills
Excellent communications skills and the ability to effectively advise senior leadership
Ability to prioritize and demonstrate relentless discipline in setting and achieving goals
Familiarity with Excel and knowledge of databases or CRM tools (e.g. Salesforce)
Proven quantitative analytical capability and project management skills in addition to being customer focused, excellent attention to detail and able to effectively prioritize and multi-task
Professional level of Spanish and English
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MBA
Experience in the B2C logistics industry
Expert use of MS Office Suite, CRM (e.g. Salesforce.com), sales and marketing automation tools, eLearning tools
Experience in working with databases (SQL, Amazon Redshift)
