Position SummaryAlexion's Spain Market Access team is seeking a Market Access Manager to develop successful pricing and access strategies and support execution for Alexion's portfolio. He/She will actively collaborate with the market access director to define the value proposition, prepare the P&R dossier, set the pricing & regional access strategy of the products under his/her responsibility, support negotiations, develop internal business cases and design engagement activities and innovative projects to bring value to authorities and payers. He/She will also collaborate with the regional access team to define and execute the regional access plan for a successful and rapid access and positioning of our products in Spain.Principal Responsibilities:Develop & Champion a clear market access plan and strategy for the products under his/her responsibility for Alexion in Spain.Identify the optimal pricing, reimbursement, and commercial policy for the product at a national and regional level.Create and deploy impactful value propositions for the products under his/her responsibility.Prepare the P&R dossier, set the pricing and the regional access strategy of the products under his/her responsibility.Identify Process-related and price negotiation hurdles to product launch and uptake. Propose and implement plans to address / overcome these barriers.Should have a deep understanding of customer needs and competitive / P&R and access environment to provide input for decision making.Collaborate and partner directly with the cross-functional team including finance, medical, legal, commercial, and corporate affairs to design plans, champion the pricing and market access priorities & execute activities at national and at hospital-regional level.Define necessary processes, KPIs and reports to support achievement of key access objectives.Work with the international value & access and HEOR team to ensure that value and economic tools are customized appropriately and include the needs of Spanish payers for price and reimbursement and local access and positioning (e.g. GVD, Budget Impact Models, Cost - effectiveness).Define and execute actions to increase awareness in key therapeutic areas.Collaborate in increasing reputation in Spain with corporate affairs/patients' teams.Identify local and national access stakeholders mapping, and establish effective corporate relationships with key stakeholders (payers, policymakers, and influencers).Collaborate with the medical team to identify evidence gaps and define local evidence plans to ensure payer evidence are recognized by global medical plan providing strategic input to demonstrate value to health technology assessment bodies and payers.Ensure coordination with the medical team to ensure support from clinical influence stakeholders.Coordinate the appropriate training to field market access team or other cross-functional members of the organization on value proposition.Ensure the decision-making processes and influencers are fully understood throughout the organization.Co-define with other members of the access and cross-functional team an engagement plan and implement key actions for key stakeholders (regional/hospital level).Monitor Health Care environment, legislation & measures impacting Orphan drugs in terms of Market Access & Pricing. Anticipate changes of local landscape and understand the implications to our portfolio.QualificationsTo be considered for this position, the following skills and attributes are required:5 or more years of market access or health economics experience with track record in delivering on pricing, reimbursement and policy strategies and influencing pricing and reimbursement negotiations.+ 3 years of experience in a cross-functional role within the cultural pharmaceutical/biotech industry; consulting firms, payers or industry trade associations would be ideal.Deep understanding of HTA/payer processes and general environment in Spain.Strong background in hospital products. Expertise in rare diseases preferred.Highly developed collaboration skills and communication skills.Experience interacting with clients/external consultants.Excellent computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).EducationA bachelor's degree (science: pharmacist, biologist, biotechnology or in economics).Pharmacoeconomics / Health economics or Health management postgraduate degree.SkillsNative in Spanish and fluent in English.Ability to combine strategic vision with tactical hands-on execution and a high work capacity.Ability to produce and optimize product value propositions, addressing the needs of multiple stakeholders and provide innovative ways of approaching pricing & reimbursement issues.Interpersonal skills and ability to build working relations with cross-functional teams (medical, marketing, finance, legal, government affairs, patient advocacy).Strong organizational and project management skills.Sense of ethics and responsibility.AstraZeneca embraces diversity and equality of opportunity.
