The Amazon Foundational People Data Services (FPDS) organization is seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) to join our team in building innovative cloud solutions that enable Amazon's builders to address the needs of our global workforce of nearly 3 million Amazonians.
Our mission is to create a workplace that empowers Amazonians to innovate on behalf of our customers. We are at a strategic inflection point, as Amazon has outgrown the third-party HR systems that we once relied upon. We are developing highly reliable builder tools (powered by AWS) that make it possible for builders to create solutions that meet Amazon's high bar, while exceeding the speed of delivery that was only possible by way of third-party tools.
As a Senior SDE on our team, your primary responsibility will be to design, build and deliver software that enables other builders to deliver integrated solutions for customers of HR. You will have the opportunity to work closely with customers, test prototypes, and incorporate their feedback into our solutions.

About the team
The FPDS Smart Forms Builder Tools organization's primary mission is to enable the rapid development of secure, scalable, and seamless experiences and workflows for end users. We are committed to simplifying common patterns for our builder customers, empowering them to devote more time to innovating on behalf of their customers.BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 7+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 7+ years of programming with at least one software programming language experience
- 7+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team
- Effective oral and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a diverse, talented team
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 7+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
