The Senior Middle Office Analyst monitors and interprets measures of economic performance as well as market risks with respect to Repsol's European Natural Gas and LNG trading activities.This role is strongly recommended for an experienced individual with a solid background in both physical and financial gas and power trading , and the desire to help shape an expanding trading business. The successful candidate is a proactive individual, with high analytical capabilities, and a hands-on personality.Responsibilities: The Senior Middle Office Analyst will be primarily responsible for and contribute to:Generating timely and accurate daily and end-of-month P&L along with market risk exposure reports .Execute trade controls and engage with traders on market risk and valuation changes of physical and derivatives trading positions.Review contracts and engage with traders to ensure accurate risk capture/valuation of trades in an ETRM system.Define new valuation methodologies and/or improvement of the current ones.Support the implementation of new and modified methodologies in Repsol's systems, specifically providing business requirements and user acceptance testing, as well as supporting functional design and implementation hand-on.Communication and dialogue with other business areas (Front Office, Back Office, Process Support, Accounting, Corporate Risk, Contracts).Support regular and ad-hoc reporting regarding Repsol's European Gas and LNG trading activities.Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in an analytical and numerical subject, preferably in Mathematics, Engineering, Finance, or Business.5+ years of experience in an energy-commodities trading environment, similar role strongly preferred, i.e. understanding of market risk concepts.Excellent ability to gather, analyze and synthesize information.Technical understanding and the ability to design, develop and maintain analysis and simulation tools.Strong analytical problem solving and data analysis skills, with attention to detail.Knowledge of ETRM systems (i.e. Allegro) and previous experience with quantitative risk tools (i.e. FEA, Lacima)Strong commercial core values and track record of value creation, collaboration, compliance, risk management, and business ethicsProficiency in English as well as SpanishDesired Qualifications Proficiency with MS Excel, VBA and/or SQL.Technical expert in risk modeling /developing risk models/ analyzing structured transactions.Experience using the Allegro ETRM system.We are a global multi-energy company with operations in 27 countries.
