This position coordinates and manages the Planning Department and associated Planners and / or BOM Specialists. Provides training and monitors planning activities and metrics.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Develops and implements the company's production control functions including any of the following activities: production planning/coordination, shop scheduling and dispatching, material requirements, planning systems, work-in-process tracking, material and labor variance controls, and manufacturing performance reporting.Ensure that S&OE and S&OP are sustained at the intended maturity level with adherence to the relevant weekly and monthly processes.Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function..Responsible for planning, reviewing, and developing production procedures and personnel.Coordinate activities with materials function using enterprise resource planning systems.Develop metrics and analytics to report manufacturing performance such as OTD, Manufacturing Lead-Times, CTB, Adherence to plans.Periodically conduct health check on the process and outcome. Manage projects to implement improvements to the process.Manages ECO (Enterprise Change Order) Implementation within group.Adhere to organizational requirements on quality management, health and safety, code of conduct, legal stipulations, environmental, 5S policies and general duty of care.Others duties as assigned.WORK ENVIRONMENT Location: MexicaliWorks in standard office environmentWorks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with manufactuing escalations to resolveMust also be able to navigate through the production environment, following the processes and procedures dictated in manufacturing.QUALIFICATIONS & CAPABILITIES: Ability to clearly articulate information at customer, executive, peer or team in a clear and persuasive manner, both orally and in writing.Strong analytical skills to drive data driven engagementsStrong SAP knowledge (R3, S4, PPDS, IBP)Capability to respond quickly, decisively, assertively, and professionally to changing requirements in demand, product description, and material demand.Ability to manage and lead a staff of professional Production Planners.Ability to organize, schedule, coordinate, and negotiate effectively and to set priorities in a manner which ensures maximum performance and goal accomplishment.Strong theoretical and practical knowledge of demand-based manufacturing systems.Ability to define a roadmap to enhance current ways of workingExcellent analytical skills, including Power BI, Tableau, ExcelExcellent presentation skills, Word, Power PointStrong organizational skillsProcess driven individualAbility to work with several projects simultaneouslyAbility to motivate others in a team environmentSales and Operation Plannings (S&OP) Experience EXPERIENCE: Minimum 7 years of experience working in a manufacturing and production arrangement as well as new product introduction environment.Proven track record of success and growth in positions of increasing responsibility.Experience in a high mix/low volume, pull-based manufacturing environment.Previous experience in production planning required.EDUCATION: College / Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration, Production Operations Management, Materials Management, or Engineering, or closely related field that is equivalent education and/or experience.APICS CPIM Certification strongly desired.
