DESCRIPTION We are looking for a talented Sr. I&C Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Engineering Department in Guadalajara, Spain.
This position is a remote role .
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways : Develop and Validate Hardware: You'll create and test essential electronic components like sensors, actuators, and control units, ensuring they meet the high standards required for Cummins products.
Problem Solving and Resolution: By investigating electronic hardware issues, understanding their causes, and recommending solutions, you'll play a key role in maintaining the reliability of Cummins products.
Process Improvement: You'll apply and enhance hardware development processes and tools, contributing to more efficient and effective workflows.
Design and Analysis: Utilizing design methods such as worst-case analysis, circuit simulation, and DFMEA/PFMEA, you'll ensure robust and reliable hardware designs.
Collaboration and Prototyping: Working with electronic suppliers, you'll deliver prototype hardware to application engineering teams, facilitating the development of new products.
Decision Making: Your decisions on hardware requirements, design, and validation tests will directly impact unit cost, functionality, and prototype delivery, influencing the overall success of projects.
Leadership and Mentorship: You'll lead smaller projects or complex components, review the work of less-experienced developers, and guide technicians and student employees, fostering a collaborative and knowledgeable team environment.
Technical Expertise: As a recognized specialist, you'll provide support and guidance within your project team, influencing technical direction and continuing to develop your proficiency in critical competency areas.
RESPONSIBILITIES To be successful in this role you will need the following: Design Standards Knowledge: Strong understanding of North American (NA) and European Union (EU) design standards, ensuring compliance and quality in your work.
EPC and Electrolyzer Experience: Previous experience in Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects, with extensive design experience in electrolyzers for both NA and EU markets.
Field Experience: Extensive hands-on experience in maintenance, construction, installation, and commissioning, including work on both greenfield and brownfield projects.
Electrical and Mechanical Design Skills: Proficiency in specifying components for electronic controllers, creating electrical systems or architecture concepts, and designing electrified systems.
Additionally, the ability to mitigate potential product failure modes to improve the reliability of Cummins' products.
QUALIFICATIONS Education/ Experience: College, university, or equivalent bachelor's degree in engineering or appropriate STEM field is required.
Post-graduate (Master's) degree relevant to this discipline area may be required for select roles.
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Prior Senior or Lead Engineer equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of technical problem solving and quality decision making.
Knowledge of MS Office tools is preferred.
