Global Building design is seeking a Sr Technical Design Infrastructure Program Manager (TIPM) to lead the program support team for an EU business unit.
This opportunity combines building design, planning, project management, team management, vendor management, and sustainability.
The ideal candidate is preferably industry experienced who succeeds in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment and has a strong multi-disciplinary management skill for leading internal and outsourced teams.
Outstanding technical architectural design related to commercial, industrial, and/or logistics buildings, sustainable technical solutions, as well as project management, time management, and communication skills, both written and verbal, are required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for setting Amazon's basis of design, design criteria, and technical solutions for building design that govern the design of these technologically advanced facilities.
The role will be based in Spain and will include occasional travel.
Key job responsibilities Work with cross-functional teams of technical and non-technical stakeholders to interpret, communicate, and drive full lifecycle real estate and design decisions.
Drive a world-class associate experience and operational efficiency as part of the building design.
Solicit requirements from and explain technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders; including collecting business and systems requirements from stakeholders, defining scope, and ensuring the successful adoption of key insights building standards.
Break large and complex projects down into manageable pieces, develop functional specifications, ruthlessly prioritize, and deliver results to make best-in-class products that meet org-wide goals.
Provide technical architectural design, change management, sustainable building design standards, architectural design standards, technical specifications expertise.
Provide technical design and quality reviews at various milestones throughout the design process to ensure building designs are compliant with design standards and business and sustainability requirements.
Oversight compliance with National requirements and building codes.
Manage third-party architects, engineers, and designers responsible for creating the building design templates for customer fulfillment and/or logistics buildings.
Assist with preparation and presentation of strategic design discussions at various levels, and coordination of workshops that drive alignment on key issues, design practices, new building designs, and initiatives.

Your day-to-day will be focused on connecting with stakeholders to obtain operational and design requirements, look around corners to find the best technical, sustainable, and cost-effective design solutions, and think big looking for innovative design solutions and tools to automate repetitive tasks and manage datasets supporting the Worldwide Operations fulfillment and logistics network.
Your insights will inform dynamic, multi-disciplinary technical teams, often with competing priorities, for design decision-making.
About the team GBD is the single-threaded owner of building design templates (prototype design) that provide innovative and technical solutions for the Worldwide Operations network from within the Global Realty Development organization.
GBD leverages technology and tools to develop key insights to create industry-leading logistics building designs that are safe, sustainable, efficient, economical, and innovative for Worldwide Operations real estate in North America, Europe, and Latin America.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, engineering, or a related field 10+ years experience in architecture and program management Strong competency with time management, organization, and attention to detail Project management experience from design phase through implementation and operation Ability to lead and manage a team, including coaching and disciplinary actions, as needed Demonstrated expertise in software programs for Revit, Bluebeam, BIM360, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of primary building systems on industrial projects- foundations, primary building structure and walls, mechanical, electrical and plumbing, fire protection, specialty systems, conveying systems, and interior finishes, along with the sequence of assembly for each.
Knowledge of technology implementation strategy and understanding in support of architectural innovation in the industry.
Experience procuring and managing consultants and vendors from RFP through project completion.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's or other advanced degree(s) in sustainability, architecture, engineering, business administration, data science, or related fields Sustainability certification/Sustainability degree or experience PMP certification Building design & construction project management experience from programming, design, construction, and operations including project planning for scope, schedule, and costs Recent and documented professional continuing education Proven experience implementing and managing a building design program including development of templates (aka prototypes), technical specifications, and design standards Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
