Job Title: Specialist Technician Research area or group: Atomic Manipulation and Spectroscopy Group
Description of Group/Project: This project is part of the activities to be held within the In-CAEM subproject, as part of the Advanced Materials program of the Planes Complementarios de I+D+I of the Plan de Recuperación, Transformación y Resiliencia. The main activity consists of the installation, set-up and supervision of a scanning probe microscope (SPM) that operates in ultra-high vacuum and cryogenic conditions and combines SPM techniques with tip-enhanced photon spectroscopies such as Raman and luminescence, called Photon-SPM hereafter.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities: Set-up of the optical spectroscopy equipment of the UHV Photon SPM, including lasers, spectrometers, detectors, and time-resolved measurements. The candidate will centralize the control and communication of the different components and synchronize it with SPM operation. Requirements: Education: Bachelor level background in physics, nanoscience or engineering. Knowledge: Background in programming in Python (preferably also in any of the following: Labview, Matlab, C++, Igor Pro), preferably also in optical spectroscopies, experimental physics, and instrumentation. Professional Experience: Automation, control software. Personal Competences: Good skills in programming for equipment control, data acquisition, and analysis. Proficiency in English and demonstrated skills in oral and written communication.
Summary of Conditions: Full time work (37.5h/week). Contract Length: Temporary (12-24 months). Location: Bellaterra (Barcelona). Salary will depend on qualifications and demonstrated experience. Support for relocation issues. Life Insurance. Estimated Incorporation Date: as soon as possible.
