Description: The HV Product Development Engineer is responsible for managing projects of development and industrialization of High Voltage cables in Vilanova, including scheduling, design, prototyping, qualification, industrialization, and associated documentation.
He or she may also participate in the development of High Voltage cables in other factories of Prysmian South Europe (Gron, Pignataro, Montereau). Part of the activity is dedicated to technical support to Production and to the development and improvement of technologies and production processes.
Main tasks: Manage development projects (scheduling, execution, documentation, synthesis) and report to the Product Development Manager South Europe. Define cable designs, issue trial orders, plan prototype production, document production conditions, issue test requests for qualification, and validate test results. Set the production process of new cables (metallurgy, extrusion, etc.). Pilot industrialization in collaboration with the production department. Define necessary investments for mass production of new cables with the factory. Write credibility documents for qualification and submit for client approval. Manage the Design to Cost portfolio for the Vilanova factory, identifying cost reduction ideas and following projects. Assist the QHSE department in case of technical claims. Provide technical support to factory production. Formation: Degree in Engineering (Material Science, Mechanics, Electricity, etc.). Experience: 5 years of previous experience in Industry R&D or Process, including project management and expertise in:
Design and characterization (electrical/mechanical/optical/physical). Extrusion of polymers and design of extrusion tooling. Knowledge in metallurgy (welding, drawing, etc.). Material characterization. Language: English/Spanish: Professional proficiency. Soft skills: Scientific rigor, flexibility, agility, autonomy, technical curiosity. Good relationship in transversal management.
