Job DescriptionThe role will support the European Procurement activities, with a special focus on optimization of costs in CAPEX related operations, including identifying opportunities of value generation through sales of sawn timber products. This is a European role and will require a lot of travel across Europe. Part of our Blue forest program – this role will implement new ways for the procurement team to add value whilst contributing to our sustainability and decarbonisation targets. We supply our manufacturers with material, so we're looking for this role to increase control over our buy-to-sell process.
You'll maintain daily contact and overview of the network of new pallets suppliers across Europe, ensuring thorough control of costs and compliance. The manager is expected to interact with suppliers, driving improvement of their operations, as well as with CHEP Regional Supply Chain and Timber Sourcing teams, to guarantee the availability of stocks of finished goods, the reduction of waste (slow-rotating goods) and optimization of raw materials ordering.
Responsibilities:Monitor supplier performance, including quality control, operation costs and adherence to contractual agreements.Conduct regular supplier audits to assess compliance with safety, environmental, and ethical standards.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, logistics, and finance, to align sourcing activities with organizational goals.Analyse market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation.Implement cost-saving initiatives and process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in the pallet production operations.Stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.Identify business opportunities for external sales process (BF).
