The "Complex Property" team is part of the wider "Property" service line, which in turn sits within the firm's "Claims Solutions Group". The team acts for a large number of insurer clients, undertaking some of their highest value, highest profile and most challenging work.The work falls into three broad categories: (i) subrogated recovery claims (typically over £250,000); (ii) defendant public liability property damage claims; and (iii) policy coverage both advisory work and disputes. In short, the team deals with disputes and problems arising out of fires, floods, storms, escapes of water, escapes of oil, explosions, impact damage (basically any way in which a property might become damaged).The team will consider applications Nationwide.What you will doWork diligently and proactively, handling a varied workload in accordance with insurer client requirementsBuild strong, trusted relationships with insurer clients and colleaguesDemonstrate good financial management and housekeeping on own filesSupport marketing and business development activities within the team (e.g. training/articles)Maintain an awareness of the firm's core strategies and aims.Who you areA qualified solicitor, chartered legal executive or barrister with at least six months' relevant experience of property insurance workTechnically excellent with an aptitude for analysing difficult legal casesAble to deal confidently and professionally with clients on a day to day basis, within the team's reporting and supervisory structureCommercially and financially astuteTeam-orientated, and willing to share knowledge and support other members of the team and the wider firmDemonstrates alignment with the firm's cultural principles (Clear, Creative, Determined and Supportive)About DAC BeachcroftWe are a leading international legal business with over 2,900 colleagues and a diverse range of capabilities.
