Opdenergy is now looking for an Solar Resource Assessment Engineer to give support to our projects in the US from the Madrid office.
What will you help with Provide technical and design support to optimize energy production and reduce construction and leasing costs for PV plants.
Continuously improve functional specifications, standards, certifications, and technical documentation for electrical systems and equipment.
Develop and review basic PV plant designs, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), PV array sizing, and optimization.
Conduct calculations and review electrical designs, including equipment sizing, earthing systems, and electrical protection analysis.
Maintain and enhance technical specifications for LV/MV equipment and construction-related electrical systems.
Control and review basic and detailed Engineering of PV Plants not only identifying deviations but suggesting upgrades or improvements.
Create tools and procedures to ensure consistent, high-quality, and optimized electrical designs for PV plants.
Provide support to the Operation and Maintenance Department in any aspect regarding to the solar resource and yield simulation of the PV Plant.
Support SCADA system design and review, ensuring compliance with metering, architectural, and project requirements.
Interface with the manufacturers or suppliers of Key Components in relation to the different simulation's and design optimization during purchase process considering standars, rules, regulations and applicable laws in all countries that Opdenergy is based.
Support troubleshooting and resolution of applicable project engineering and performance issues as well as evaluation of new technologies.
Who you are Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
Minimum 3 years of experience in industrial-scale PV plants.
Detailed knowledge of PV plant performance parameters such as PR and familiarity with recognised performance testing procedures, including availability calculations.
Detailed knowledge and calculation of basic and detailed engineering (BT AC-DC, Civil Works, etc…) as well as basic knowledge on AT power lines and substations operation and regulations.
Familiarity with PV plant components and technical operating parameters.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Advanced MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
Proficient in CAD, Civil 3D, and Q-GIS (or equivalent software).
Availability for travel, including work from Madrid and occasional international trips.
