Job title: Solar Civil/Mechanical Engineer
Location: Spain (Remote)
TGRC is looking for a Solar Civil/Mechanical Engineer to join a leading solar developer and IPP. The chosen person will be responsible for civil design and calculations and act as the subject matter expert to discuss with lenders' technical advisors.
Responsibilities: Ensure compliance of civil/mechanical/structural engineering designs with applicable norms, regulations, and project-specific requirements.
Maintain current knowledge of civil/mechanical/structural engineering design standards.
Prepare requirements for structural assessments, topographical, geotechnical, soil investigations, and other studies.
Analyze reports and translate findings into design requirements.
Utilize AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and PV design software for conceptual and detailed drawings.
Develop technical specifications and coordinate with the engineering team for PV system design.
Act as subject matter expert in discussions with external and internal stakeholders.
Support project development, acquisition, and construction stages.
Assist the procurement team in analyzing technical solutions from suppliers.
Liaise with the on-site Owner's Engineer during construction.
Stay updated on developments in civil and structural engineering.
Apply knowledge of photovoltaics and engineering practices to optimize designs.
Maintain organized project documentation.
Support solar PV design optimization initiatives.
Qualifications: More than 5 years on Utility Solar Power Plants.
Experience in other energy markets such as Oil & Gas, Wind, Storage, etc.
On-site work experience with complex soil conditions
Experience in dealing with hybrids
A working understanding of energy project finance
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practising.
Must be self-motivated, and customer-oriented, with an ability to balance multiple projects where focus on detail might be needed while working under tight deadlines.
Must be able to function equally well in fast-paced, collaborative, multi-discipline teams, and self-directed independent assignments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Other languages, such as Spanish, Swedish, Polish, French or Italian.
Familiarized with the international standards which apply to PV Solar Project, IEC / IEEE / EN / UNE / UL...
Management of Google Earth or similar GIS tools.
