Schneider Digital is the digital department of Schneider Electric, leading the digital transformation in the company by giving support globally to our internal teams and our clients.
Our Digital Hub in Barcelona is formed by +450 employees working in strategic projects and different roles such as Data, Cybersecurity, ERP, Cloud, Infrastructures, IT Project Management or Digital Marketing.
We are seeking a Release Manager to join our team and be responsible for the end-to-end management of the self-service OX Product delivery within the DCR organization.
This position involves planning, coordinating, and overseeing the release process, ensuring that all software changes are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and align with business objectives.
This person acts as a bridge between development, quality assurance, operations, and product management teams.
Main Responsibilities Release Planning:Develop and maintain a comprehensive release schedule that aligns with project timelines and stakeholder requirements.Collaborate with project managers and product owners to understand the scope and priority of upcoming releases.Coordination and Communication:Facilitate communication between cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment on release goals and timelines.Organize and lead release planning meetings, including release readiness reviews.Identify potential risks and obstacles in the release process and develop mitigation strategies to address them.Conduct impact assessments for changes and communicate potential risks to stakeholders.Release Execution:Oversee the deployment of software releases across various environments (development, testing, staging, and production).Ensure that all release documentation is complete, accurate, and accessible.Ensure the delivery of Backlog items as well as constant evolution of existing product features and/or future enhancements.Develop and maintain an appropriate prioritized backlog of user stories for implementation.Collaborate closely with the technical delivery team during the Build Phase by scheduling and animating regular due Build Reviews and standups.Contribute to the User Acceptance Test Sessions by ensuring that all identified gaps and bugs are addressed.Quality Assurance:Collaborate with QA teams to ensure thorough testing and validation of releases before deployment.Monitor the performance of released software and address any post-release issues promptly.Gather feedback from stakeholders and teams involved in the release process to identify areas for improvement.Implement best practices and tools for release management to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain detailed records of release activities, including schedules, outcomes, and lessons learned.Provide regular status updates and reports to senior management on release progress and performance metrics.Training and Support:Train team members on release management processes and tools.Provide support for troubleshooting and resolving issues that arise during the release process.What qualifications will make you successful for this role? Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.5+ years of experience in software development, project management, or release management roles.Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and software development life cycles (SDLC).Proven track record of successfully managing software releases in a fast-paced environment.Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills.Preferred Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a team and across departments.Certification in Product Management or Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified Scrum Product Owner) is a plus.Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD methodologies and practices (JIRA, JFrog, Maven, SonarQube, GitHub).Deep knowledge of ordering platforms, web solutions, AWS, J2EE, JS frameworks, API, UIaaS, GSC processes, ERP, Databases, and related technologies.Experience and deep understanding of user experience best practices.Understanding of SAP technologies such as IDOCs, BAPIs, RFC, EAP PI/PO, SAP Cloud Platform Integration, and modules such as FI/CO, MM, SD, PP would be an advantage.What will you get?
