For one of our clients, a global leader in insurance software solutions with a presence in over 30 countries, we are seeking a Software Engineering Manager.
The company drives innovation and growth in the insurance industry, impacting millions of lives with flexible, cloud-based services across Life, PC and Health insurance.Role OverviewAs a Software Engineering Manager you'll lead and support your team, balancing technical expertise with strong leadership.
With a Java background, you'll work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Architects to optimize team potential.
You are proactive, data-driven and skilled in crisis management, with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Previous leadership experience in IT, preferably in the insurance industry, is ideal.ResponsibilitiesTeam Leadership Development: Lead and mentor developers, ensuring alignment with product goals and fostering a collaborative, growth-focused environment.
Conduct performance evaluations and address knowledge gaps through training and development.Technical Leadership Strategy: Define and drive the technical vision, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Promote best practices, conduct code reviews and stay updated on industry trends to enhance team knowledge.Collaboration Cross-Organization Coordination: Work closely with Product Managers, QA and Release teams to align priorities and clarify requirements.
Manage complex escalations and provide technical guidance for critical issues.Hands-On Technical Oversight: Engage with the codebase, mentoring through complex development, coding, debugging and performance optimization.
Advocate for Java best practices and drive innovation through AI and optimized tooling.Requirements6+ years of professional experience in software development, with a good proficiency in Java and related frameworks (ex.
Spring Boot)Solid understanding of cloud technologies and experience with microservices architectureProven experience in leading and managing technical teams in an Agile or Scrum environment, with a focus on fostering a positive and productive team cultureStrong decision-making skills, assertive when needed, with the ability to balance between technical requirements and business needsStrong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical topics to a variety of audiences Strong command in EnglishJK Recruitment activities are based on Recruitment licenses No 3374 and No 3375 from 1.08.2022
