Role Overview As a Software Engineering Manager you'll lead and support your team, balancing technical expertise with strong leadership.
With a Java background, you'll work closely with Product Owners, Scrum Masters and Architects to optimize team potential.
You are proactive, data-driven and skilled in crisis management, with excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Previous leadership experience in IT, preferably in the insurance industry, is ideal.
Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor developers, ensuring alignment with product goals and fostering a collaborative, growth-focused environment.
Conduct performance evaluations and address knowledge gaps through training and development.
Technical Leadership & Strategy: Define and drive the technical vision, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Promote best practices, conduct code reviews and stay updated on industry trends to enhance team knowledge.
Collaboration & Cross-Organization Coordination: Work closely with Product Managers, QA and Release teams to align priorities and clarify requirements.
Manage complex escalations and provide technical guidance for critical issues.
Hands-On Technical Oversight: Engage with the codebase, mentoring through complex development, coding, debugging and performance optimization.
Advocate for Java best practices and drive innovation through AI and optimized tooling.
Requirements 6+ years of professional experience in software development, with a good proficiency in Java and related frameworks (ex.
Spring Boot) Solid understanding of cloud technologies and experience with microservices architecture Proven experience in leading and managing technical teams in an Agile or Scrum environment, with a focus on fostering a positive and productive team culture Strong decision-making skills, assertive when needed, with the ability to balance between technical requirements and business needs Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to clearly communicate complex technical topics to a variety of audiences Strong command in English JK Recruitment activities are based on Recruitment licenses No 3374 and No 3375 from 1.08.2022
