Job Overview

The Firmware Engineer is responsible for the design, sustaining, and issue resolution of firmware for watt hour meters. This role will be focused on developing the next generation of smart meters for the global market.

A variety of country and utility requirements will be encountered, and a continual set of challenging engineering tasks will be faced as these requirements are finalized and projects to serve these different markets are launched.

A Day In The Life:


Work jointly with integrated design teams.Design, develop, and validate firmware on embedded systems.Lead the certification process for firmware modules.Develop embedded firmware for PLC and cellular communications with DLMS / COSEM protocols.Troubleshoot, resolve issues, and enhance existing applications designed using C and C++.Develop conceptual designs and detailed designs in accordance with established engineering processes, submit design code for reviews, and update the designs as required.Resolve field issues and quality issues through analysis and design changes.Create required design documentation as per NPI Guidelines.
