This organization develops and maintains instrumentation agents and integrations for a wide range of products, including Kafka and MySQL.We are working on projects to simplify observability for engineers, allowing customers to spend less time on instrumentation and setup while leveraging open source frameworks like OpenTelemetry.All development is open source, either in Golang or Rust. We encourage async communication and independence, while also building strong human relationships among team members during our ceremonies or in-person gatherings when possible.What You'll Do:Build, maintain, and scale Rust and Go clients/projects, along with their support tools.Contribute to Open Source and grow your reputation and skills.Collaborate with team members to discuss and implement service improvements, research new tools and services to solve complex problems.Ship incrementally and often, maintaining a constant flow of feedback on the team's work.Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach; teams build and maintain their own software, including participating in second layer support rotations.This Role Requires:At least three years of experience, with a passion for open source software, Linux systems, software architectures, and the Rust programming language.An autonomous, cross-functional, and agile mindset, thriving in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality software regularly.Self-motivation, quick learning, accountability, and creative problem-solving skills.A collaborative approach in important decisions and shared code ownership.Bonus Points If You Have:Experience developing instrumentation products.Experience developing on different Unix OSes and Windows.Upstream contributions to relevant Open Source projects (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, databases, HTTP servers, etc.).Fostering a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive environment is important to us.
