This organization develops and maintains instrumentation agents and integrations for a wide range of products, including Kafka and MySQL.We are working on projects to simplify observability for engineers, leveraging open-source frameworks like OpenTelemetry.All development is open source, either in Golang or Rust. We encourage async communication and independence while building strong human relationships between team members during our ceremonies or in-person gatherings when possible.What You'll DoBuild, maintain, and scale Rust and Go clients/projects and their support tools.Contribute to Open Source and grow your reputation and skills.Collaborate with team members to discuss and implement service improvements, researching new tools and services to solve sophisticated problems.Ship incrementally and often, maintaining a constant flow of feedback on work.Work in an agile environment with a DevOps approach, participating in second layer support rotations.This Role RequiresAt least three years of experience and a passion for open source software, Linux systems, software architectures, and the Rust programming language.Autonomous, cross-functional, and agile mindset, thriving in a fast-paced environment focused on delivering high-quality software.Self-motivated, quick learner, accountable, and demonstrates creative problem-solving skills.Ability to collaborate with colleagues in important decisions and share code ownership.Bonus Points If You HaveExperience developing instrumentation products.Experience developing on different Unix OSes and Windows.Upstream contributions to relevant Open Source projects like OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, DBs, http servers, etc.Fostering a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive environment is important to us.
