Key Job ResponsibilitiesWe are looking for a great software engineer with an interest in modern user interfaces, data science, machine learning, search, or recommendation systems. You have great problem solving skills. You love staying up-to-date with the latest technology and use it to help you innovate. You have strong leadership qualities, great judgment, clear communication skills, and a track record of delivering great products. You will lead the charge on architecture and design decisions, as well as building out the experiences to deliver to millions of customers.
About the TeamOur vision is to build the next generation of shopping experience at Amazon through personalization and understanding the customer's intent. We aim for the quality of personalization to be a core reason customers choose Amazon, on par with Earth's largest selection, low prices, and fast and free shipping.
Our team is part of Amazon's Personalization organization, a high-performing group that leverages Amazon's expertise in ML/AI/LLM, big data, distributed systems, and user experience design to deliver the best shopping experiences for our customers. We run global experiments and our work has revolutionized e-commerce with features such as 'Keep shopping for ...', 'Customers who bought this item also bought', and 'Frequently bought together'. We personalize experiences across the Amazon retail ecosystem, including but not limited to: Homepage, Detail Page, Search and Rufus.
Minimum Requirements3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experienceExperience programming with at least one software programming language3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experienceBachelor's degree in computer science or equivalentAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
