Software Development Engineer II
Would you love working with a creative engineering team in building an intelligent, scalable platform? The Travel Agent Affiliate Program (TAAP) team is focused on a multi-year effort to build best-in-class tools for travel advisors.
As a Software Development Engineer, you will work in a small, agile team to design, develop and maintain our TAAP product in a continuously integrated environment. You will build automated regression tests, participate in peer code reviews, and provide estimates on work.
What you will do:
Build and own shopping, booking & trip management experience including checkout, post booking processing and reporting.
Participate in resolution of production issues.
Work with teams across Expedia Group to incorporate their services into our product.
Contribute to writing, refactoring, testing and perfecting code.
Create APIs to be consumed across the business unit.
Craft clean code using design patterns and object-oriented concepts, to ensure code is highly maintainable.
Understand how teams' goals fit a business need.
Identify business problems at the project level and provide solutions.
Technologies we use: Java, Python, Kotlin, Javascript, React, AWS, GraphQL, REST, XML/JSON, SQL, Spring, Docker, Datadog, Splunk.
Who you are:
Strong expertise in:
Kotlin/Java
Messaging/queue systems
SQL and NoSQL technologies
Experience with Web UI technologies including Javascript, Typescript, React.js, Webpack, HTML5, CSS and NodeJS.
Experience working in AWS and continuous delivery practices.
Ability to test, monitor, debug, and fix issues within established SLAs, using testing and monitoring tools.
Able to design software that is easily testable and observable.
Comfortable working with several forms of technology.
