Global Engineering Insights & Software Tools (GEIST) is looking for passionate, hard-working, and talented Software Development Engineers who have experience in supporting innovative and mission-critical software tools. In this role, you will be building and supporting complex software tools and data solutions with automation using AWS tech stacks. You will have an enormous opportunity to work on multiple AWS tech stacks, researching and identifying opportunities to have a positive impact on customer experience.
Key Job ResponsibilitiesAs a Software Development Engineer in the GEIST organization, you'll work closely with some of the brightest app developers, Data Engineers, SDEs, and TPMs to solve highly complex challenges related to software tools. You will be responsible for designing and developing software solutions/tools to improve the speed, quality, and efficiency of various teams working on Amazon projects. You will be working on tools and infrastructure challenges involving software, big data, and large-scale back-end cloud services, all with the goal of delivering a seamless experience to the customer.
A Day in the LifeA successful candidate will have deep technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, an interest in developing software, data, and infrastructure solutions/automations, excellent organizational skills, great communication skills, and a motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. Candidates must have demonstrated the ability to manage complex software products, understand business use cases, and translate them into technical requirements, building solutions that are reliable and scalable.
You should be comfortable diving deep into technical architectures and requirements, be able to quickly identify solutions to challenges discovered during development, and be ready to work with some of the latest cloud computing technology. Prior experience with building stable and scalable software and data solutions is required. Prior experience with databases and designing massively parallel systems is a plus.
About the TeamThe GEIST organization is responsible for providing software and data solutions for organizations working on delivering capacity to the Amazon Fulfillment network, including planning, configuration management, design, construction, startup, launch, and operations engineering teams. Partnering with app developers, SDEs, Data Engineers, and TPMs, you would support existing software tools/infrastructure and help build new ones to be used by various teams across the globe. Successful members of this team collaborate effectively to solve problems, implement new solutions, and deliver successfully against high operational standards.
