Key job responsibilities As a Software Development Engineer, you will: - Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
- Build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
- Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.
- Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.
- Work in an agile environment to deliver high quality software.
- Organize and participate in collaborative Q&A sessions, workshops, and presentations to share your technical know-how.
- Mentor more junior team members in their career growth.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience (non-internship) in professional software development - Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers - Experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems - Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design - Knowledge of professional software engineering & best practices for full software development life cycle, including coding standards, software architectures, code reviews, source control management, continuous deployments, testing, and operational excellence - Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent - Ability to communicate in spoken and written English in a business setting PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations Amazon is an equal opportunities employer.
