Amazon WorkDocs is a cloud-based document storage and sharing service with strong administrative controls and feedback capabilities. WorkDocs aims to be the simple, secure, and affordable cloud-based document management service, as well as the home for all conversations, collaboration, and activity surrounding user/team/organization documents.

We are looking for a well-rounded software development engineer with a proven track record of solving challenging technical problems and creating great products for end users. The candidate will be a catalyst for change by working with various product managers and principal engineers to code and design flexible and scalable solutions, addressing some of the most complex challenges. As a Software Development Engineer on the Amazon WorkDocs Service team, you will:
Design, develop, and support a world-class search platform serving individuals and businesses of all sizes.Produce code that is robust, efficient, and maintainable; our primary languages are Java, Python, React, and C/C++.Work on challenging problems in areas such as data storage, query optimization, JVM performance optimization, security, machine learning, and more.Continually challenge existing solutions and explore changes to best meet evolving customer needs.Possess expert knowledge in large-scale distributed system design and engineering best practices.Participate in setting a vision and objectives for Search Services in alignment with customer needs and market opportunities.Drive and work on algorithm and architecture design, executing and delivering results.Invent the future of search and log analytics in the cloud.Join a motivated group of top-notch people and work collaboratively to solve challenging problems.About the TeamWe have built WorkDocs using other AWS Products for storage, workflows, compute, messaging, analytics, and more. Our customers use our product through various channels - web, mobile, and desktops. Our team is a first-hand user of our own product, allowing us to empathize with our customers. This translates into a tight feedback loop and high empowerment to reduce customer friction and innovate.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.Experience programming with at least one software programming language.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.Amazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
