Ring in Madrid is growing rapidly in 2024, therefore we are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to join our Streaming team. Our team will develop current projects as well as build and deliver new features. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be a core member of the development team.

Enjoys coaching and mentoring the engineering teamIs passionate about building IoT productsEnjoys working side by side with colleagues and teams on tough problemsIs highly effective and thrives in a dynamic environment with multiple, changing prioritiesKnows what is important when shipping products to customers and has been through the process from start to finishIs comfortable with proactive outward communication and technical leadership and never shies away from a challenge Key job responsibilities Delivering high-quality C/C++ code for Ring Devices at AmazonProactively communicating and demonstrating technical leadershipDesigning and implementing real-time streaming protocols like RTP/RTCP for embedded Linux and RTOS environmentsOptimizing video encoding and decoding on various HW platformsDeveloping bandwidth control and adaptive streaming algorithmsIntegrating with device-specific audio/video hardware and firmware interfacesProfiling and optimizing code for memory, CPU and power efficiencyCollaborating on debugging streaming issues in the field BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, related field, or equivalent practical experienceProven experience in software and streaming development with C/C++, familiarity with embedded and IoT domainField experience with creating high performance and low latency video streaming solutionsExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey technical information to a wide variety of audiences PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Master's in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field, or equivalent work experienceDeep understanding of modern C/C++(11+) programming languages and general algorithms theoryKnowledge of Linux systems and RTOS operating system internalsExperience in the video and audio encoding (AVC, HEVC, OPUS, etc) and streaming (WebRTC, RTP, RTSP, etc) technologiesExperience in network programming and understanding of network and web related protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP, IPSEC, HTTP, HTTPS)
