Context And Mission
The Earth System Services Group (ESS) at the Earth Sciences Department conducts interdisciplinary research to enhance the societal value of environmental information, climate prediction, and air quality services. The aim of the ESS is to improve resilience and accelerate adaptation to a rapidly changing environment.
Key Duties
Perform stakeholder analysis
Conduct participatory methods to achieve stakeholder engagement
Support user-engagement and knowledge transfer tasks within EU-funded and national projects
Write reports and communication material about stakeholder engagement and climate information impact
Link with other projects to organize user-engagement activities
Travel and attend conferences, workshops, and other events
Participate in tasks aiming to sustain climate services post-project
Follow up on stakeholders' feedback and needs raised in meetings and workshops
Requirements
Education: MSC in Social sciences, environmental management, or similar
Essential Knowledge and Experience: Previous professional experience in participatory activities and climate services is preferable
Additional Knowledge: Training in climate, environment, air quality, or renewable energies will be valued
Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Competences: Ability to work in a professional environment within an interdisciplinary team
Conditions
The position will be located at BSC within the Earth Sciences Department
We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), flexible working hours, and private health insurance
Duration: Open-ended contract linked to project activities
Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus holidays per collective agreement
Salary: Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience
Starting date: 01/10/2024
