PURPOSE AND SCOPE The Site Manager is the overall point of contact in the asset facility. The role provides on-site operational supervision as well as the maintenance services for the asset. Reporting to the Head of Asset Management, the role requires strong technical expertise in facilities management, project management, organizational management, analytical thinking, and practices the safety mindset. KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Schedule and ensure execution of daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activities to ensure smooth operations of a solar power plant. Monitor the performance of the solar plant on a day-to-day basis and must be available for immediate site visit in the event of fault recovery. Identify problems and develop corrective action plans. Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs. Travel to project sites and vendor locations as assigned, to perform all aspects of on-site installation, repair, maintenance, and/or modifications as required including commissioning and/or decommissioning. Perform electric, mechanical, and software component inspections, testing, repair, and troubleshooting, in accordance with specifications. Respond to emergency calls and ensure that all O&M emergency-related activities performed at project sites are well documented including the expenses on such response. Responsible for all required repairs, maintenance, and monitoring of all warranty claims. Work closely with O & M team to ensure that the PV System is in tip-top condition. Work closely with contractors and customers to arrange site visits for unusual conditions. Perform re-energisation and de-energisation activities. Create maintenance procedures. Manage inventory of supplies and equipment. Oversee and sign-off Site Acceptance Tests and Factory Acceptance tests for Low voltage and high voltage equipment when required. Responsible for ensuring quality on the following: Benchmarking of PV System IV curves as part of commissioning. Mechanical & Electrical Commissioning as well as testing of PV system. MAJOR CHALLENGES The candidate will be someone that is self-driven, able to work in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to multitask and adapt to highly dynamic situations. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a current Professional License and professional knowledge in the solar Industry is preferred. Experience in use of SCADA is preferred. Able to interpret, review and work out design and construction drawings, with the support of drafters and fellow engineers
