We are seeking an experienced Shift Left Practices (Principal Engineer Manager) to drive our shift-left initiatives and enhance our software quality and development efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software engineering, quality assurance, and modern development practices, with a particular focus on implementing and optimizing shift-left methodologies.
The impact you'll make:
Lead and mentor multiple engineering teams in adopting shift-left practices across the organization.
Design and implement shift left strategies across the software development lifecycle.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate QA earlier in the development process.
Champion the use of automated testing and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Develop and maintain coding standards and best practices that support shift left principles.
Implement and oversee test-driven development (TDD) practices.
Drive the adoption of static code analysis tools and processes.
Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of shift-left practices.
Continuously improve development processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in shift left and QA practices.
This position requires travel based on the needs of the business.
Skills and Experience:
10+ years of software development experience.
3+ years of experience in a leadership role.
Proven track record of implementing shift left practices in software development.
Strategic leadership and influence skills, serving as a change agent in implementing quality practices at scale. The ideal candidate must have the ability to run effective training sessions, workshops, and knowledge-sharing initiatives promoting a quality-driven culture across engineering squads.
In-depth understanding of automated testing frameworks and CI/CD tools.
Experience with agile methodologies, security, performance, and DevOps practices.
Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
