.Job Summary: The Value Stream Operations Manager II drives lean throughout the end-to-end value-creating process including: Event scope definition, event planning, associated methods/tooling/skill requirements, corresponding event staffing quantity and timing, resulting schedule, duration and labor hours target and corresponding outage standards.
Value stream ownership continues through mobilization, execution, closeout and continuous improvement.
Will also build out detailed, sequenced checklists for use in the Live Outage tool.
Will partner with stakeholders across the enterprise including Productivity Operations, P&L Engineering, P&L Methods, FieldCore Tooling, FieldCore Resources, FieldCore Region Operations, and FieldCore Lean roles to first operate to standard and then make breakthrough improvements.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Manages and continuously improves the end-to-end value stream for assigned technologies and/or product lines.
Examples of specific activities include:Implement and manage the improvement of outage standards and checklist content for every product and scope to the appropriate level of detail to achieve consistent Safety, Quality, Delivery, Costs (SQDC) outcomes.
Standard work spanning all documents/systems and all phases of service planning and delivery.Executes updates to standards in all systems and documents such as schedules, methods, tooling BOMs, schedule and WBS, guiding skills in ServiceMax and Kahuna, corresponding JCE.Manage and maintain current and future state value stream/process maps for each technology-scope value stream, as well as more detailed mapping for specific activities along the value stream.Execute projects and initiatives for value stream problems by searching across regions, across GE businesses, and industry at large.Uses value stream/process maps to contribute to a kaizen calendar and other improvement projects to reach future state and breakthrough results at component, process, and value stream level.Going to Genba to have deep discussions with field engineers and outage execution teams to incorporate into strategic plan for value streams.Partners with the Lean for Field Service team to integrate improvements across the value stream.Drives accountability to realize improvements from all supporting organizations by following up to ensure implementation and realized value stream improvement.Supports breakthrough year-on-year results in SQDC through lean by supporting the resulting value stream bowler (scorecard) and action plan (hoshin kanri/kaizen calendar) execution, communication, and results (KPI).Supports building a lean culture.Examples of specific activities include:Frequent genba (in the field) watching, listening to and learning from the field teams executing the value stream standard - implementing improvement in the checklists of the Live Outage tool
