Scopely is looking for a Senior UX Designer to elevate our new casual game, Scrabble team in Barcelona on a hybrid basis. YAHTZEE is one of our casual free-to-play mobile games and is a classic board game with a new look. The team is based in Europe and the US, and works every day to create captivating new experiences for our players.
What You Will Do
As a Senior UX Designer, you will work as a key pillar of the team, connecting Product, UX Research, UI Designers, Game Designers, Art, Devs… following a Player Centric approach and ensuring the best quality and experience for our players. Apply your UX knowledge and player feedback to help improve and evolve the current game experience.
Improve existing features to ensure they are easy to understand, fun, and engaging for our players.
Lead UX workshops to influence and facilitate a co-design methodology among your colleagues.
Be a key person during the ideation and pre-production process for new features, taking a hands-on approach to the development process to ensure we deliver the best user experience.
Follow the latest UX design thinking practices during the ideation/design process.
Stay updated with industry trends to go beyond our competitors.
Work closely with UI, Art, Product, Game Design, and UX leadership to define and establish a cohesive identity and language for the game.
Collaborate closely with UI designers in creating UI frameworks that lead to visible, accessible, user-friendly, and engaging features.
Apply and advocate for a unified user flow throughout gameplay features and systems.
Iterate using player and team feedback to aim for simplicity, comprehension, and seamless experiences.
Develop the player journey for each feature to ensure a delightful end-to-end experience for players.
What We're Looking For 4+ years of proven experience as a UX Designer in the gaming industry.
Ability to lead the design of useful, usable, and desirable products in a cross-team environment.
Player-first mindset, considering our players in every part of the design process and advocating for them in the team.
Ability to develop and communicate complex systems on different layers using wireframes, customer journeys, user flows, mockups, prototypes, and storyboards.
Understand player needs by independently conducting customer research, user testing, and establishing feedback loops.
Ability to work well within a dynamic, cross-discipline, and iterative team environment.
Self-motivated and collaborative, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both in-person and remotely.
Thrive in a collaborative environment while maintaining a positive and humble mindset.
Awareness of current trends in casual mobile games.
Deep passion for creating polished and innovative gameplay experiences for casual mobile games.
Strong eye for visual design and understanding of visual communication.
Strong understanding of game design and design theory.
Proficient in Figma and the creation of Design Systems.
Bonus points Experience in casual social games with deep customization and meta-progression systems.
Consistent record of creating impactful features on live games.
Experience in all phases of the design process, including concept development and prototyping.
Experience in Live Operations (ideally in casual games) in a data-driven game organization.
