The position In this global position you will be part of the Global Logistics Services team (GLS), complementing the Global Trade Compliance COE and reporting to the Director Global Trade Compliance (GTC). You will orchestrate processes, align standards and guidelines to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations for import/export across the different regions and you will drive relevant analytics.
This is a global, remote position and can be based in The Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Finland, United Kingdom or Ireland. There is a possibility to work from a local office or manufacturing site for one or more days a week. International travel will be very limited.
Welcome to our team Global Logistics Services (GLS) is part of SCM Supply Chain Operations within the company's Manufacturing and Supply (OMS), and responsible for Trade Compliance, Global Freight Forwarding, Product Handling, Warehouse and Distribution support and Digital Logistics & Analytics. The Global Trade Compliance Center of Excellence is a central function with the ultimate objective to have our products delivered efficiently where they should be, at the best possible value and in compliance with all applicable legislation, under an optimal operation and through a proactive approach and with the partnership of the Regional Operations and Trade Compliance functions. The Global Trade Compliance team consists of one Associate Director and 3 Senior Specialists.
Responsibilities Own policies, standards and global import/export processes while work towards continuous improvements and driving best practices. Provide strategic and tactical stewardship for global trade compliance systems and processes to assigned markets, partners, and stakeholder groups. Develop and maintain knowledge of world class import/export practices for translation to business optimization and efficiency opportunities. Be the champion for import/export activities globally through improved trade cycles and compliance process effectiveness. Drive to 100% compliance with laws and regulations for import/export under a LEAN mindset. Work closely with regional experts across Technology, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, Operations, Transportation to develop a global sustainable compliance process. Required Education, Experience and Skills Bachelor's or Master's degree on International Trade, Global Tax, Logistics or Supply Chain Management. At least 5 years of experience in an import/export role with knowledge of trade compliance processes and the interplay with global supply chain. Knowledge and experience in at least one of the following regulatory environments: Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices and/or Health Care. International trade business acumen including tariff classifications, customs valuation, license management, preferential origin determination, free trade agreements background. Attention to detail, good communication, analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work with technical and non-technical business owners with a continuous improvement mindset. Strong oral and written communication skills in English. Preferred Experience and Skills Experience in ERP trade data maintenance (HS Classifications), Sanctioned Party List Screening and import/export compliance program management. Additional European language skills are considered a plus.
