.Overview : Luzia, the fastest growing AI company in Europe, is looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to join our founding engineering team. Backed by Silicon Valley investors (Khosla Ventures, A*), Luzia aims to transform its conversational capabilities to unparalleled standards, using state-of-the-art large language models (LLMs) and alignment techniques. Responsibilities Lead the design, development, and deployment of backend services with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and robustness, particularly in applications involving LLMs. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business needs into technical specifications, ensuring that solutions meet both performance and business objectives. Develop APIs and manage inter-service communications that underpin our AI-driven products. Uphold high standards for code quality and system reliability by implementing best practices in continuous integration, testing, and deployment. Mentor junior developers, promoting a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement across the team. Analyze and improve the efficiency, scalability, and stability of various systems. Engage in system design and architecture discussions, influence product roadmap and project planning. Requirements 5+ years of experience in Backend, in Python. Other languages are a plus. Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Strong interest (and proven experience/side projects) in AI. Driven by a customer-centric mindset with a strong focus on product orientation. Familiarity with the startup environment and methodologies. Strives in fast-paced environments. Deep understanding of LLMs and other AI/ML technologies, along with proficiency in Python and other programming languages. Experience with cloud environments, modern databases, and data ecosystems. Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English and Spanish. Proactive and self-motivating with strong prioritization skills and ability to work autonomously. Demonstrated ability to translate complex technical concepts into business-oriented language. Preferred Qualifications Experience with high-performance computing and optimizations. Previous leadership experience or strong project management skills. B2C experience, working with large databases of user information. Experience in AI products/companies.
