We love games, and are obsessed with creating the best player experience!Your role within Activision Blizzard MediaYour role involves designing and developing a highly scalable, available, and reliable Ads & Monetization platform capable of handling billions of requests daily. You collaborate with architects and fellow engineers to craft backend systems while working closely with product and peer engineering teams on cross-functional projects. In addition, you partner with DevOps engineers to ensure operational excellence and exhibit a genuine curiosity for mentoring junior engineers.Responsibilities:* Build scalable data pipelines and services.* Understand the business requirements and translate them into the development/design tasks.* Follow engineering best practices and design/coding standards.* Collaborate with the other team members across different teams.* Design and implement cloud-based data lakes and data warehouses* Choose the right technology stack to align with those use cases with scalability.* Develop alert & monitoring systems and procedures for faster disaster recovery.* Provide mentorship, guidance and technical directions to other specialists and engineersSkills to create thrills:* Degree in Computer Science or a similar technical field of study or equivalent practical experience.* Extensive hands-on experience in software design and development.* Previous experience gained working with relational databases such as MySQL, Postgres etc.* Strong in Java/Python Development and object-oriented design principles.* Proficient SQL skills and database performance concepts.* Familiarity with NoSQL databases like Bigtable, Cassandra, HBase etc.* Experience with schema design and data modeling.* Strong understanding of large-scale distributed data processing.* Experience with developing extract-transform-load (ETL).* Experience with distributed messaging systems like Kafka* Experience with distributed computing frameworks like Apache Spark and Flink.* Ability to communicate and articulate thought process effectively with colleagues* Ability to work independently with limited guidance.Preferred Qualifications* Working experience in building data warehouses and data lakes.* Experience working with Azure, AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)* Experience in ML-Infra* Knowledge of advertising platformsAbout KingAt King, we're Making the World Playful.
