.RWE Renewables Italia S.R.L., Rome, Madrid, Barcelona, ZaragozaTo start as soon as possible, full time, permanentFunctional area: EngineeringRemuneration: N/AOur OPEA Engineering community within RWE Renewables takes ownership for engineering solutions provided to projects under Development, Construction and Operation.We are looking for a Senior Site Suitability Engineer to join the OPEA Project Engineering Europe South team and support our onshore wind projects with main focus in new developments, repowering and lifetime extensions in Spain, Italy and Australia.Our Site Suitability Engineers are part of a global Site Suitability community of engineers located across the globe.The team provides holistic technical assessment to enable the business to select the most competitive turbine technologies. They are, together with the Wind Turbine Engineers, the internal experts re. OEM landscapes and wind turbine developments.Responsabilities:- Perform site suitability assessments and life time assessments, incl. load and fatigue lifetime assessment and Wind Sector Management (WSM) assessment; incl. management of related tasks and collaboration with the Engineer Coordinators.- Independent assessment of site conditions under consideration of all project requirements and timelines, especially with regard to the suitability of using competitive wind turbine technology to maximize yields and minimize costs of energy.- Review the quality of the Site Suitability Report (SSR) / Mechanical Load Analysis (MLA) received from the OEMs and shared the outcome with the key internal stakeholders (Resource Assessment, Acoustics).- Perform site visits, collect information from developing sites under development and operating sites with site suitability issues.- Support the Wind Turbine Technology Engineering team in specific tasks (incl. wind turbine due diligence, failure rate assessment, power curve assessment) and collaborate with the relevant internal stakeholders (Development, Resource Assessment etc.) and the external stakeholders (OEMs, certification bodies, consultants etc.).- Depending on the RWE wind turbine procurement strategy, pre-selection of wind turbines suitable for the site and establish a wind turbine short list.- Application and (further) development of relevant in-house standards, tools, techniques and processes within the area of responsibility, engage and lead R&D; initiatives.- Depending on the RWE wind turbine procurement strategy,taking ownership for further development of wind turbine load calculation competence within the team may be needed.Qualifications:- Successfully completed university studies in an engineering discipline (or comparable).- Comprehensive specialist knowledge and several years of relevant professional experience in site suitability assessment preferably from working for a turbine OEM
