Offer Description Mission: Improve the performance of a distributed data processing engine, like Dask or COMPS, leveraging hardware specifics transparently for the user.
Correct scalability by decoupling the engine primitives from the underlying data warehouse platform. Design and develop a new automated solution to dynamically assign computational tasks to the most suitable processor, including CPU and GPU. Contribute to the inquiry of articles in notable places. Skills/Qualifications Technical competences: CUDA GPUs Python Organisational competences: Teamwork Scientific documentation writing Functional competences: Communication skills Specific Requirements Educational Requirements: Machine Learning Business Intelligence and Databases Professional Experience: At least 2 years in distributed computing. Experience with performance analysis tools. Experience in similar functions, specifically in research activities, both in university and industrial settings will be valued. The maximum score for candidates meeting all eligibility criteria is 10 points. Threshold: 5 points. The maximum score (10 points) will be distributed as follows: 1 point for required specialty. 2 points for required academic training. 2 points for technical competences. 1 point for organisational competences. 3 points for professional experience. 1 point for any aspect of the candidate's professional profile deemed especially relevant by the Selection committee. If the selection committee decides to include a personal interview as an additional step, only candidates scoring 5 or above for their CV will be retained for the interview.
The interview will be assessed according to the following criteria:
Threshold: 3 points. The maximum score will be distributed as follows: 2 points for adequacy to functional competences of the job. 2 points for adequacy of professional experience. 1 point for any aspect of the candidate's professional profile deemed especially relevant by the Selection committee. Eligible candidates will be ranked from highest to lowest score based on these criteria.
