The vision for our 100th birthday in 2025 is to see DEKRA as the global partner for a safe world.As a R&D Firmware Engineer, your main objective will be to develop technical capabilities in the research and development team, with main focus in security evaluation of SoCs, SiPs, microcontrollers, FPGAs and embedded devices.The R&D team is multidisciplinary with security specialists from the areas of mathematics, telecommunications and electronics. Our main tasks include to develop lab capabilities and execute attacks in fields ranging from fault injection, side-channel analysis and physical hardware attacks, to software/firmware and cryptographic attacks.You will be part of a worldwide reference security lab and participate in international projects with top-tier customers guaranteeing the security of their products and services. Contribute to internal and external research and development projects to develop new team capabilities in security evaluations, including the areas of physical hardware attacks, side-channel attacks, fault injection attacks and firmware analysis.Perform firmware testing, analysis and security assessment of embedded devices, SoCs, SiPs, microcontrollers, and similar.Programming and automating tasks for security assessment and learn how to use advanced laboratory equipment.What do we expect from you? More than 6 years of demonstrated experience of firmware analysis or development with microcontrollers, SoCs, SiPs and similar.Knowledge about bootloaders, firmware updates and working with ARM/RISC-V architectures.Capability to structure and resolve complex problems, both in a team and independently.Aptitude for teamwork, cooperative and goal-oriented mindset with a passion for learning and working in a dynamic environment.Ideally, you'll also have Bachelor's or Master ´s degree in Software, Electronics, Embedded systems, Telecommunication or equivalent
