Together with our clients, we're helping to deliver the energy transition globally.About the roleMott MacDonald are seeking a senior Project Manager to join our growing energy team in Europe. The Senior Project Manager will provide project management and engineering input in the delivery of technical Advisory and Owner's Engineer roles on large scale thermal power generation projects. The suitable candidate would also be able to take on the role of technical director.As Senior Project Manager, you will be an integral part of a large multidisciplinary, multi-skilled team of engineers working on thermal power generation projects worldwide. The clients and projects can be located anywhere in the world, so the role is challenging and interesting. Our work is varied in its nature and the role will primarily include Feasibility Studies, Owner's Engineering (technical specifications, tenders' evaluations, design review, construction supervision, project management), Technical and Advisory for investors and developers. International travel will be a part of the role, including site visits and client meetings. There will be opportunities for short-term and long-term assignments.Your key responsibilities will be:Manage and lead thermal projects from feasibility stage through design to completionManage and direct the technical delivery of projectsControl and monitor contractual, commercial aspects of the servicesMentoring and development of junior engineersSupporting Account leaders in business development and tenderingContribute to the preparation of proposals and/or cost estimates for energy projectsContribute to the tender preparation and assessment process for owner's engineer projectsProviding management and engineering input into projects at all stages (development, procurement, design, construction, operation, sale and acquisition)Leading technical discipline meetingsProject management and budget controlAttend project sites to lead technical progress meetings and perform quality assurance inspections of mechanical equipment during the installation phaseAbility to work on international projects and understand and manage country and region-specific factorsFlexibility to travel internationallySupport in the management of interfaces between the main contractorsAbility to develop and maintain strong working relationships with clientsManage and actively identify all critical risks, issues and impacts of the project specifically the adequate application of and adherence to both statutory and corporate health, safety and environmental requirementsMinimum Requirements:Degree Qualified engineer with extensive experience in Large thermal energy projects using gas turbinesStrong background in plant performance, preparation of technical specifications for large power plantsDemonstrable experience of Project ManagementDemonstrable experience in client facing rolesAbility to manage and motivate a wide range of specialistsDemonstratable knowledge of project contractual and commercial managementUnderstanding of technical due diligence processAbility to monitor and control project budgetsDesirable:Member of a suitable Professional InstitutionExperience of providing technical support to LendersAvailable to start within one month of applicationWe are actively recruiting a diverse workforce that is reflective of the communities we serve.
