Wood is recruiting for a Senior Piping Designer to join its Projects – Process and Chemical Team, focusing on engineering, procurement and construction of complex plants in the Chemical, Petrochemical and Energy industries.
The position will be based in Madrid office.The RoleThe successful candidates will be highly motivated, able to work independently, and have demonstrable leadership capabilities.
They will be confident in their own ability to deliver the Design and Piping scope on a project on time and within budget, while facilitating effective work.Project ResponsibilitiesResponsible for designing pipingResponsible for improvements in productivity and technical qualitySupervising and coordinating piping work, CAD-2D, S3D, MTO and Stresses and SupportsCoordinating procedures and specifications of piping designMaking sure that the flow of information to and from other disciplines is properly issued or received, in due time and with the minimum quality enabling the work assigned to be doneCoordinating development of Computer Programs in CAD-2D and S3D and reviewing the proper use of electronic filing systems assisted by the PDS coordinatorResponsible for implementation in his or her area of responsibility and/or department and for effectively informing personnel under him/her of the "Principles of Ethics and Conduct of FW Iberia", Safety Policy of FW Iberia, as well as for performing the relevant follow-up workSupervising implementation plans, piping routing (scope layouts, piping layouts, in general pipeline drawings) and definition of critical lines in the initial stage of the ProjectsMonitoring and issuing productivities for the ProjectsCoordinating any work subcontracted to other engineer firmsCoordinating with the Piping Group Chief Engineers as regards the personnel required for ProjectsReviewing planning documents with the Group Leaders and Section Coordinators responsible for ProjectsCoordinating with Piping Group Chief Engineers and Section Coordinators as regards the notifications made to Project Engineers of deficiencies in data for the ProjectsSupervising and coordinating the filing of documents for Projects with Group Leaders and Section Coordinators, as well as keeping this updated until the end of the ProjectDistributing work to all the personnel assigned and making sure that they have the information required to do their workKeeping updated reports on the status and progress of all the project documents assigned, including dates for starting and receiving commentaries on the plansApproving the plans for piping in the ProjectTo contribute and maintain environmental objectives and goals, in response to the Continuous Improvement of our processes in relation to the EnvironmentComply with the requirements and also its Continuous improvement in all our Company activities, to guarantee a position of global performance improvementSkills / QualificationsMinimum 10 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry with comprehensive hands-on experience in CAD design (i.E.
Auto-CAD, Smart Plant 3D, Smart plant Review) with Piping backgroundHigh level of drafting skills using AutoCAD, GTX Roster CAD, MS-Office, SP3D & SPRExcellent computer skills including word processor, spreadsheets and other applicationsExperience and detailed knowledge of relevant drafting requirementsExperienced with piping layout and modeling computer programsExperienced with review of piping bulk deliverables (i.E.
General Arrangement Drawings, Detailed module layouts, Isometrics, Piping Support Schedule, etc)Good general knowledge of the Standard and Codes applicable to drawings prepared for the Oil Industry with multi-discipline drafting functions and specialist in one major discipline e.G.
pipingThe draftsman shall have good experience in Site verification, As-building activities, Walk through, Interpreting data from 3D Laser scanning etc.Ability to organise and prioritise work to meet the target dates.
Strong leadership skills, with written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skillsAbility to organize and plan multi-disciplinary design drafting work, to meet deadlines.
